About a year ago, I wrote about my bus ride from hell to Ontario, Canada for Black Ski Weekend. After that, I swore that I would never do a long-distance bus trip again. Well, I lied. Two weeks ago, I took hopped on another bus for a 6 hour ride to Sevilla, España, and I’m so glad I took the opportunity to do so!
I booked my trip through a travel company called Be Madrid. For a package that included transportation, hotel accommodations, breakfast, and some excursions, I paid about €109 total. We had 3 trip leaders and I never felt unsafe or lost in the crowd (there were about 25 of us).
In the few short hours we exploring winding streets of Seville, we toured the old town barrio of Santa Cruz, walked along Spain’s sole royal palace – Alcázar, viewed the famous Plaza de España, climbed the beatiful Metropol Parasol, saw an emotional show at Museo del Baile Flamenco (Museum of Flamenco Dance), attended the Festival de las Naciones (Fesitval of Nations) and more. I was truly enchanted by the gorgeous little city, so much so that I second guessed my decision to live in Madrid! I guess the small town charm isn’t so bad to a Chicago girl, after all 🙂
