I consider myself a Mexican food snob. I’m absolutely obsessed with the cuisine. I love tacos, tostadas, chilaquiles, tamales, pozole…basically anything that’s not seafood. I’ve always said the best Mexican food I’ve ever had was in Chicago, Cabo San Lucas, and San Diego. I never expected that I would be adding Madrid to that list.
Takos al Pastor is what most of us Americans refer to as a “hole in the wall” restaurant. It’s about the size of a 2 car garage, if you put 12 tables and a kitchen in the middle of it. Despite the rather humble appearance, it is always packed with people. The line gets so long that it literally wraps around the corner.
On average, I’d say waiting to order can take 20-35 minutes.
